About Brandon Stooksbury

Brandon currently serves as the Director of Instruction at the Idle Hour Golf Learning Center in Macon, Ga. He specializes in competitive player development with focus in the areas of short-game and putting and his students compete at every level from junior golf all the way through national level USGA events and the professional tours.

Stooksbury is a Class A member of the PGA of America with a certification in instruction and carries advanced certifications from the Titleist Performance Institute, AimPoint Golf, and US Kids Golf in Biomechanics, green reading, and junior development. Brandon came to Idle Hour from TPC Las Vegas where he served as the Director of Instruction for the PGA Tour Academy and has previously worked with Golf Digest Top 5 instructor Jim McLean in Miami, Florida.

Since 2010, Brandon has consistently been ranked amount the top 10 teachers in his state by Golf Digest and is a member of the magazine’s elite “Best Young Teachers” list. He has earned multiple PGA honors including the 2012 and 2015 Teacher of the Year and has been recognized as a Top 30 instructor by Golf Tips Magazine and is a Golf Range Association of America Top 50 Growth of the Game instructor.

Brandon’s first book, The Wedge Book: An Owner’s Manual for Your Short Game, was a #1 Amazon Best Seller in 2016. He is also a regular contributor for Golf Digest, Golf Illustrated, and Golf Tips Magazine as well as providing regular content for Athletic Motion Golf.

Brandon is a native of Knoxville, TN and lives in Macon with his wife and two young children.
